The CALOHEA project aims to contribute to the internationalisation of higher education institutions in Southeast Asia through developing a series of interrelated measures that are indispensable for improving recognition of higher education degrees. The project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. The ASEAN University Network (AUN) acts as a co-coordinator within the region, while the University of Groningen (RUG) is the project coordinator.

The National Meeting (NM) is a major part of CALOHEA dissemination activities. Its objectives are:

  • To promote participants’ awareness and understanding of the benefits and how to effectively utilise CALOHEA Recognition Mechanisms in three subject areas:
Civil Engineering, Medicine, and Teacher Education, to increase and enhance mobility in higher education.
  • To be a platform to promote internationalisation in higher education among the partners in the ASEAN and EU regions.

The first round of NMs will be organised in seven countries: Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, The Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam from March-May 2023. The target participants of the meetings are policymakers, university leaders, programme chairs, academic staff, students, and employers.
